To get a complete look at your body type read in AZGUIDE to Ayurveda and more.VATA is composed of the elements air and space; air, the dominant element, is contained within the spaces and channels of the body. Vata governs Your physical and psychological movement, flow, circulation, and activities of the nervous system. People who are predominantly vata resemble air and space (or wind as it is sometimes referred to). They tend to be thin, quick, light, changeable, unpredictable, enthusiastic, and talkative. When they are out of balance, they experience diseases of the nervous system; scattered energy; intestinal gas and constipation; insomnia; dry, flaky skin; and anxiety. Vata governs the life force within us and thus leads the other two doshas. This means in everyday english. The nervous system is the controller of the bodys' electric network. In ayurveda body work, acupuncture points and in chiropractic ,nerve energy current pathways are the different ways to say the same thing. So the the vata type moves easily, quickly and alot. You are the type that needs daily oil massage more than the other types. You need warm ,cooked food, and meditation , slow rhythmic exercise like Tai Chi. The message to the vata type is everyday get up and insulate yourself with daily oil massage, slow down before you speed into the day with meditation, then go on your day and your body will not go haywire for the day. Your vata is aggravated if you ..?Have excessively dry, rough, flaky skin and chapped lips Dark circles or puffiness under your eyes?* Dandruff ?* Suffer from insomnia or wake up at night?* Experience constipation, intestinal bloating, or gas?* Have low energy and poor stamina?* Are very sensitive to cold?* Bite your nails?* Have arthritis or stiff and painful joints?* Your eyes feel dry?* You have low appetite and have experienced recent weight loss or are underweight?* Feel tired, yet wired?* Are worried, anxious, fearful, or nervous?* Can't relax and are antsy or hyperactive or restless?* Have .trouble concentrating?* Space out Go through checklist and take a good hard look and start caring for your unique self today. http://www.drhelenthomas.com Hi I am a practicing Chiropractor for the last 25 years.
